Maximilian Herrera is the most amazing, caring & sweetest 17 year old with so much to give to this world. He is totally in love with life, his family, friends and school. He has many dreams like any other kid his age and is looking forward to overcoming the biggest challenge of his life.
Max is currently being treated for a possible tumor in his brain. His mother lost her job earlier this year and they don't have health insurance at this time. He was admitted to the Houston Methodist Hospital where they performed several tests such as (CT exam, MRI, Lumbar puncture) and later found out that he has a mass in his right lower midbrain and right upper and mid pons.
Unfortunately, the doctors weren't able to provide a diagnosis becasue he needs to get done a PETscan and it can only be covered if you have insurance.
Max was discharged from the Houston Methodist Hospital and a few days ago he was admitted at Ben Taub Hospital. They have not been able to perform a PETscan either and they can't do a biopsy because the mass is too close to his spine. The doctors suggest he goes under surgery right away as he could have a tumor or a vascular malformation that needs to be treated right away.

Maximiliano es un chico de 17 anos lleno de vida, suenos y aspiraciones. Max es pura alegria, siempre vive la vida con optimismo total y siempre da lo mejor de si mismo.
Max ha sido diagnosticado con un probable tumor en la cabeza. Inicialmente fue admitido en el hospital Houston Methodist donde le hicieron cualquier cantidad de examenes (CT exam, MRI, Spinal Tab) lo que revelo esta masa en su cabeza.
Max fue dado de alta al no poderle hacer un examen que se llama PETscan y que solo esta cubierto si uno tiene seguro medico o $40,000dls.
Despues de unos dias en casa y sin ninugun cambio en su salud lo llevamos al Ben Taud hospital donde ya fue admitido y tiene cirugia programada para esta misma semana.
La cirugia como cualquier otra es de alto riesgo pero tenemos mucha fe en que todo saldra bien.
De antemano le agradezco a toda la familia, amigos y completos desconocidos que sientan la nececidad de apoyarnos en estos momentos tan dificiles. GRACIAS!!!
