Ethan Heads to Haiti!

Donation protected
Hey all! I am so thankful that each and every one of you are taking the time to read about my upcoming trip this summer, it means the world to me. Read on below to find out more about Coreluv and the efforts I will be assisting with this summer.

What is Coreluv?
There are more than 153,000,000 orphans in the world today and only 250,000 will be adopted each year. At this rate, it would take over 600 years to adopt each of the world’s current orphans, not including the 1,750 children that continue to be orphaned every day. The sad truth is that most orphans will not be adopted!  That is why Coreluv International was founded in 2011 with the sole purpose to Defend the Orphan. The dream of Coreluv International is to bring the love of Jesus to orphans by partnering with communities and orphanages around the world to provide 6 basic needs: clean water, food, education, healthcare, job skills, and a loving environment to call home.

What is my involvement?
I have been selected for the summer internships with Coreluv to spend one month in Haiti assisting with any efforts they need my abilities for. While in Haiti, I will be helping serve orphans throughout the summer, developing leadership skills, and most importantly growing closer to God! I see this as a great launching off point for a lifetime of service and ministry.

I chose to apply and accept the internship because of a couple I personally know who work as leaders for the very trip I will be going on. They are an experienced mission minded couple and I have a lot to learn from them! Of all the mission opportunities to step out on, this trip with Coreluv seemed like a great fit for my personal background and where I believe God is leading my future.

How can you help?
First - Talk to me! This may seem minor but I love sharing about the goals and plans for the upcoming trip, it's exciting and something I would love to share with everyone I know.

Second, prayer. Keep not just me, but all the efforts of Coreluv in mind between now and the trip, a powerful prayer network will make a huge difference in the success of the trip.

Third, sign up for email updates! I will be periodically sending out updates on the progress of every aspect of the trip, and you can track that by clicking here  and sharing an email I can reach you at!

Last, I will be raising $3000 to cover the cost of the trip. The breakdown of expenses is as follows: $1600 for housing, food, travel within Haiti, and other on the ground issues; $1000 will for airfare to and from the country. The remaining $400 is for miscellaneous expenses, including shots and medical expenses for the trip, passport fees, and items specific to the projects we will be doing while there. Important: Anything not spent directly for the trip WILL be given to mission efforts in some way, ensuring that all of the money is used for the betterment of the Haitian people. As a nation, a majority of the citizens live on close to $2 a day, and so any donation will help.

What about questions?
I look forward to hearing your questions! I am always available to field any you may have via email at [email redacted]. I don't want anyone to feel at all in the dark about any step in this process, so please reach out and contact me with any such inquiries. You can also message me on Facebook, or contact me by cell phone (message me for the number).

Also: If you would rather give via a check or cash, please do so! I will personally add it to the donation tally on this website to keep the information up to date. My local church, Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist, will be handling all the physical donations so that we can provide you with a contribution receipt. To do so, mail it to:

DWMBC - Haiti Internship
P.O.Box 112
Trinity, TX 75862.

Please make sure to indicate my name in the memo line of the check, and make the check payable to DWMBC. Include a note with any cash donations that directs the funds toward my account with them. The amazing team at Dorcas will take care of accepting and holding all funds on my account until payment deadlines.

What's next?
The trip is currently set for June! That means I need an $800 deposit in April, and one in May to get started well. I really look forward to the trip and working with every one of you as a support network. Even if you don't make a financial contribution I value your involvement in the process, and please sign up for email notifications so I can keep you up to date!

Thanks so much,
Ethan
