Young adults returning to study

This is a pilot project of human development in the local community that involves offering a complementary education to train and support people towards new goals. Weekly we have classes in Portuguese, mathematics, history and psychological support in the construction of a life project. There are 15 people enrolled, aged 16 to 51, all local residents and around 80% were not studying and have not finished high school or basic education. They are seeking to achieve their diplomas and higher education. The project happens in the Association of Residents of Fazenda, district that is located in Furnas Road 3001, Alto da Boa Vista in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, there is no high school in the region or classes for young adutls. This project fills this gap, giving support to people who want to resume their studies. This project came about in conversations with my graduate friend Cadu, a history teacher who has many years of experience in community educational programs, so we joined forces and organized the team of teachers and psychologists. We also got the support from Leonardo, a local resident who managed to find a location for the classes, and also helped to mobilize people to participate. In short, a dream of several people coming true. The course is already happening, but to continue we need your support !!!
