Estella’s Kissing Spine Surgery

Some of you, friends and family know our story, some of you don’t. Estella came to me as a project at first, an opportunity to learn and work with a young horse. When I couldn’t afford her costs two years ago I had to very reluctantly give her over to other horse professionals who would care for her best. They did no such thing and left her without care and over the last two years her condition has worsened. In December the woman who was watching and “caring” for her abandoned her. While helping all of the other horses in this woman’s care find their way to safe homes, Estella was left without options. And so, I had no choice, I had to buy her and ensure that she would always have a loving home and a person.
I’ve always dreamed of owning a horse and Estella is every bit as loving and sweet as any owner could ever hope for. She wants to learn and she wants to grow.
Kissing spine is a condition that develops over time and makes two or more of the horses vertebrae to touch if not press against each other. This surgery will correct that condition and allow her to feel like the horse she wants to be. It will allow us to grow and learn together.

I never intend to sell this horse, she is mine forever. I just want her to happy and healthy and without pain. This surgery is our answer.
