Essentials for nursing staff

COVID 19 has knocked our NHS sideways. Nursing/Clinical/essential roles have been adapted to support the current global crisis . From our Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Cleaners, Porters, Catering Staff (the list really is endless) everybody at Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) is pulling together and doing their bit to support the national effort and our wonderful NHS.

ROH is a small (but no means less) hospital in comparison to some of our neighbours. The work we do at ROH is vital, we are supporting our neighbouring trusts by opening our once elective doors to emergencies whilst still providing life saving surgery for oncology and spinal patients, and of course we are also caring for COVID 19 patients.

There are strict infection control and prevention guidelines in place which we have to adhere to once we have cared for a COVID 19 patient.

We have to have a shower once that care has finished either at the end of the shift or before we attend another patient.

Trust me when I say we are just as scared as the general population, especially bringing it home to our loved ones but we are needed. So we will continue to do what we do best - go to work and smile. We care for your loved ones as if they were our own.

BUT we need your help, we desperately need toiletries for when we have to shower. This means we are not using vital NHS patient supplies or having to take our own from home .

So could you spare a donation to help us order some vital toiletries, hand cream etc?
