Vieques, PR- Hurricane Relief Fund

Donation protected
Hey Everybody,

I'm Dana Ferguson from Brooklyn, NY Most of my friends and family know that my brother and sister in law live on and run a business in Vieques, Puerto Rico, known to anyone who visits as a friendly island with some of the most beautiful secluded beaches on earth, and the craziest most magical biolumiscent/phosphorescent bay!
Well, I think that they need our help now! So far they aren't getting any aid after Hurricane Maria damage. Their airport, and many of the planes themselves, are trashed. Ferries aren't going in and out, so that means no supplies at all. They rely on food and supplies coming in by boats and planes. They have no power or means of communication. Many people are standing on lines in 90 degree heat to use a satellite phone to get in touch with family. I hear that some roads are washed out. If you are hearing that Puerto Rico isn't getting much in the way of relief efforts, then Vieques is getting even less as a forgotten island off of PR for now.  J and Lisa are extremely positive hard working people, and I want to be able to transfer them some funds so that they can funnel it to the places that they see fit and just take some of the weight off of themselves, whether it's to put it back into their business, take care of the island's many animals, get supplies to people who need it, or just stay afloat. If there is a problem they attack it, and this is a huge problem. From afar, I feel like I need to do something/anything to help, and if you can too, we'd all be extremely thankful.  They have plenty to clean up and rebuild, and their business/industry is built on tourism, so the island will be driven to get back into shape as soon as possible. That's just who they are as people. Their business has decade long ties to taking care of the stray animals on the island with the Vieques Humane Society and I'm sure that seeing the damage and loss from this storm must be devastating. The things that they've mentioned needing are: chainsaws, inverter generators, water filtration systems/desalinization systems, baby/adult wipes, water, food, pet food, etc. - No matter how long this goes on, or whether payments get deferred, without a tourism industry on the island they will be screwed. If you can make a donation now, that would be wonderful. If not, maybe schedule a visit to Puerto Rico when they get back on their feet. They will need their tourism business more than ever, but that is obviously a long way off. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
