Esmeralda Tristan is a 16 year old Junior in High School. A Houston Texas native, and a second year cosmetology student. Esmeralda has since an early age overcome several life altering events such as enduring the loss of her father at the age of 13.

Esme’s tragic story began Saturday April 15th when she fell victim of a careless drunk driver hit and run accident.

Over the last week, Esme has endured countless medical challenges in the Memorial Hermann Acute Trauma Center.

Esmeralda was rushed to the hospital and underwent several surgeries and as a result of the extent of her injuries, doctors had to amputate her right hand.

A passenger of the vehicle Esmeralda’s was in, sadly did not survive the accident.

Even though Esmeralda has gone through so much pain these past few days, she keeps pushing through with faith and is simply grateful to be alive.

Esmeralda is one of the kindest, giving souls. No one should have to endure the nightmare that she’s lived these past days. They have a very long road ahead of them.

Any support will be much appreciated and will go directly to Esmeralda’s mother Carolina to help cover her substantial medical expenses, rehabilitation costs and a prosthetic hand she will need once she fully heals.

Esmeralda Tristan es una joven de 16 años en la preparatoria. Nativa de Houston, Texas, y estudiante de cosmetología de segundo año. Esmeralda ha superado desde temprana edad varios eventos que cambiaron su vida, como tener que superar la pérdida de su padre a la edad de 13 años.

La trágica historia de Esme comenzó el sábado 15 de abril cuando fue víctima de un accidente de atropello y fuga por parte de un conductor ebrio descuidado.

Durante la última semana, Esme ha superado innumerables cirugías médicos en el Centro de Traumatismos Memorial Hermann.

Esmeralda fue trasladada de urgencia al hospital y se sometió a varias cirugías y, como resultado de la gravedad de sus heridas, los médicos tuvieron que amputarle la mano derecha.

Un pasajero del vehículo en el que se encontraba Esmeralda, lamentablemente no sobrevivió al accidente.

Aunque Esmeralda ha pasado por mucho dolor estos últimos días, sigue adelante con fe y simplemente está agradecida de estar viva.

Esmeralda es una de las almas más amables y generosas. Nadie debería tener que soportar la pesadilla que ha vivido estos últimos días. Tienen un camino muy largo por delante.

Cualquier apoyo será muy apreciado e irá directamente a la madre de Esmeralda, Carolina, para ayudarla a cubrir sus importantes gastos médicos, costos de rehabilitación y una prótesis de mano que necesitará una vez que se recupere por completo.

Su apoyo significa mucho para ella, ya que sería de gran ayuda para ella y su madre Carolina durante este momento difícil. Hagamos todo lo posible para ayudar.
