Eureka Springs Firefighters Injured in Structure Fire Attack

A Eureka Springs firefighter was seriously injured while fighting a structure fire on Grand Street Saturday evening. An attack team of two firefighters had just made entry into a burning mobile home when one of the firefighter’s air pack mask was dislodged. The firefighter sustained respiratory burns and was extricated with the aid of his partner. The firefighter was placed on a ventilator and flown to Mercy... Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.
The second firefighter was taken to Eureka Springs Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
An investigation into the incident has begun. More information will be released as it becomes available.

The coming weeks and months will be very trying for Firefighter Wasson and his family both emotionally and financially as he goes down the road to recovery. We ask that you please help us support our injured brother and ease the finnancial burden that this injury will place on his family. As we get updates on Firefighter Wasson I will update this page so that you all can stay informed.
At this time Firefighter Wasson has family with him at the hospital and can recongnize visitors but he is still moderately sedated and still on a ventilator.

My name is Colten Harris and I am a firefighter/EMT with the Eureka Springs Fire Department where I work with Rod. I started this campaign shortly after Rod was injured in an attempt to raise as much money as possible for the Wasson family. All funds raised will go directly to the Wasson family to help offset medical costs, travel expenses, food, and whaever other expenses arise from Rod's hospitalization. Once the campaign has run its course I will have the money transferred to the family of Rod Wasson.
