Ernie Sergejenko medical disability

On February 5, Ernie suffered a catastrophic intestinal obstruction caused by an arterial blood clot. He required 3 surgeries over the course of 4 days to repair it. Ernie remained in critical condition under complete medical sedation and on a ventilator for 7 days. On February 12 he was moved to ICU where his slow recovery began. It took several days for him to be able to move enough to even sip water on his own. On February 22 he was finally stable enough to move to a regular room. 

Ernie is working hard on physical and occupational therapy several times per day. He is finally able to walk short distances with assistance and he can now digest food properly. His complete recovery and physical therapy is expected to take at least 3 months.

During this time Ernie is unable to work and is only receiving a very small percentage of his salary.  Ernie's wife is unable to work due to chronic medical issues. Because of this, Diane and friends and family have set up this fundraiser to help the family replace Ernie's lost salary while he is recovering.  This money is urgently needed to help the family with regular expenses as well as expenses related to Ernie's treatment.  These funds will greatly help the family and give them peace of mind during this very difficult time.
