Ernani Baja Toledo aka "Pops" was born January 17, 1938 in Kawait-Cavite, Philippines and took his final breath on October 10, 2018 in San Diego, California , surrounded by his loving family.
Pops dedicated his whole life to his wife and family. His favorite pastimes were relaxing in the patio, singing love songs while playing the piano or guitar, performing the bass with the San Diego Samahan Rondalla, watching all 7 of his grand kids play basketball, humming made-up melodies while rocking his 3 great grand children to sleep, cooking his specialty dishes for his kids, and galavanting to his favorite restaurants with his wife Mona. Every memory made with Pops was sealed with a gentle smile on his face. He was always so selfless and joyful. Even though Pops was an accomplished man, he did not boast - the definition of a man of few words.
Pops was tragically diagnosed with cancer in 1996 but with God's grace he battled it for 22 years, allowing us to spend precious time with him. We miss Pops already yet are comforted by knowing he was a believer of Jesus, our savior and reconciliation to God. We are finding hope, faith, peace, and joy in Jesus over our broken-hearted situation and are thankful for all the love friends/extended family has given over the years.
If you'd like to help support Pops' memorial services please feel free to donate - anything helps - and we will keep you posted on the details of when and where it will take place.
We love you all
