Erin Kristine Jarvis. Where can I begin? Such a kind hearted woman that touched everyone she loved. Her smile and laugh could light up an entire room.
There are many of you that have requested donating to a fund, instead of giving gifts etc. to show your support. So we, as a family, have decided that we will be donating this money to a recovery center of our choice. As you all can assume, we have been trying our hardest to get all of the arrangments together in this devastating time, which is a hard task in itself. Erin would have wanted this money to go to a great cause, and due to the circumstances, we believe that this is the absolute best thing to do.
Our family wants to thank everyone so incredibly much for all of your kind words. Erin was SO lucky to have all of you in her life. She is with us through all of this. There is a quote I would like to conclude with, that Erin had written in a letter to my mother, and I think it sums up the reason we have decided to donate this money to a group that helps young adults seek help for substance abuse:
"The moment we think we have life, love, and faith figured out, our personal demons, who have been preparing for our single lapse in judgement, come to surface and give us yet one more reason to question this universe in its entirety."
Again, even though it is not necessary, it is greatly appreciated to raise awareness of this terrible disease. Erin, being the most caring individual in this world, was a role model to many and will be truly and deeply missed.
Her love lies in all of us, and it is forever lasting. Everyone pulling together in our family's time of need goes to show, how great our family and friends really are.
