Erin Matthews Recovery help

At the beginning of September, Erin was admitted to the hospital for what they thought was a bad ear infection. Over the next frightening few days, the diagnosis became viral meningitis with a small stroke. She was moved to St. Luke's in Houston for a neurological consult, and is still there at this time.

Over the course of a miraculous recovery, Erin has re-learned to speak and move her whole body, and her family and friends are overjoyed that she is pulling through! However, she is a full-time working mother of two. Her wonderful husband Eric is doing his best to get to work, take care of their boys, and still drive to Houston to see his wife while she recovers.



There is a long road ahead, and Erin will need some time before she is ready to go back to work. Hospital bills are not cheap, as we know, and the family is now getting by on one income until she is better.

We know Erin's friends and family are widespread across the country (and the world!), and many of us have had to settle for updates on Facebook, because helping out in person just isn't possible. This is why we're creating a way for loved ones to give aid and support from a distance. Sending a casserole may not be possible, but chipping in for groceries is!!
