Erik's Accident Support

On November 27, 2017, Erik was the passenger in a Rhino Golf Cart/ ATV when the driver tipped the cart, causing the roof to land across Erik's ankle, shattering the bones in his foot and almost severing the foot from his leg. After getting rushed to the hospital, an orthopedic specialist was rushed in due to the severity of the injury. Thankfully, he was able to reattach Erik's bones and saved his foot, using an external fixator! However, because his foot had been shattered across the ankle, he was unable to save Erik's heel and he is now working with a plastic surgeon to determine next steps in healing. Throughout this process, Erik has been medically advised to stay off his foot for the next several months as they work through plastic surgery options to repair or replace his heel. Only then will he be able to start physical therapy to walk again. While this is already a major tragedy, to make matters worse, Erik is a soccer coach and depends on his dominant foot for many aspects revolving around his passion for soccer. Erik recently graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree and his college loan payments have just begun, as well as his responsibility for car payments and insurance every month. Without a steady income and his inability to work, he is going to need support and assistance to stay afloat the next 6+ months as bills continue to flow in.
