Erik's Back Surgery & Recovery

Donation protected
My husband Erik is a wonderful man who has dedicated his life to helping others on their healing path.  He is a compassionate and empathetic healer who is now facing his own serious health issues with a broken back.

To share a little history about his injury, Erik first broke his back playing sports in high school.  He was 16 at the time. What occurred is called pars defects or hairline fractures on the vertebrae . It is also known as spondylolysis. It is a common sports injury for teenagers.

This type of break can also be a congenital defect in the spine but there is no way to tell until the injury occurs. The breaks are bi lateral on L4 and L5. He wore a back brace for 6 months and did a lot of rehab. He was able to come back and wrestle again and for the most part be back to his old self.

Moving forward, Erik's back really was never the same though. There were multiple times where he had re-injured his back and that is what led him to yoga and the beginning of his holistic lifestyle.

In the winter of 2014 Erik had a fall outside.  He re-injured the pars defects (break/fractures) and because of these breaks, his spine is not stable. There is now a   slippage called spondylolisthesis at L5 which is aggravating the disc at L5 and causing nerve pain down his legs. This will only get worse with age and since there's not as much blood flow going to the spine  it is harder for breaks to heal.

Since the 2014 fall, Erik has been suffering with a tremendous amount of pain every single second of every single day for the past serveral years and it  just keeps getting worse.

After years of going from doctor to doctor and exhausting every non-surgical remedy possible, Erik
has made the decision to undergo back surgery.
He will be having a double spinal fusion to stabilize his spine.

On a positive note, Erik is still young and really healthy in every other way so the prognosis is very good for him to be free of pain and live a healthy long  life post surgery!

The surgery date is coming up November 16th.
If everything goes smoothly, Erik will be facing a few days in the hospital  and a two month recovery period.

This  will result in medical expenses and lost wages.

Erik has had to cut back his work hours quite a bit in the past serveral months as an attempt to manage the pain and suffering he has to endure on a daily basis.  Due to the time off work leading up to the surgery, this has left him in a financial struggle even before his surgery and recovery expenses begin.

The funds raised from this campaign will go to:
- medical expenses
- lost wages
- accumulated bills while out of work

Overall,  expenses will exceed $8,000, but this campaign goal would be a great start to help him get through this challenging time.

It's extremely difficut to ask for help and we are so thankful in advance for any contributions and support.

OTHER WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE -----
With the holidays season upon us
another way that you can support him if you feel more comfortable is by purchasing some of the healing products that he makes. I can manage his orders for him during his recovery.

You can do this through his website at

Also, if you ever wanted to experience the work that Erik does he has gift certificates available on his shop to be used in 2018 when he is healed and back working.

He also now offers herbal consultations that can be done long distance as well.

We look forward to keeping everyone up to date on the progress Erik makes after the surgery.

I have faith in my heart that Erik will come out of this time in his life stronger and healthier than ever.... and his ability to give back will be 10 fold.  He loves the healing work he does and  once he heals from this surgery he will be unstoppable and eager to pay it forward.

Thank you again for your love and support.

If you can help spread the word and share this campaign with  at least 4 friends that would be greatly appreciated.
