ERIKA'S MEDICAL FUND

Erika Hill grew up in Columbia Falls, MT and currently lives and works in the valley with Kevin, and their beautiful new daughter, Berklee. When Erika was 15, she was diagnosed with  Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction of the right kidney and Chronic Hydronephrosis.  She underwent an intense 8-hour surgery at that time to repair her kidney. Chronic Hydronephrosis was still present after surgery and continued to worsen over the past 10 years. When Erika became pregnant in 2017 the additional pressure caused further issues requiring a stent to be placed in her Ureter to help her get through the pregnancy and allow her kidney to drain.  Although Berklee was born 3 weeks early she was perfectly healthy. Erika's condition continued to deteriorate, even after the stent was removed.

Urologists in Kalispell have declined to attempt a second operation to repair Erika's kidney due to her complex case and she was referred to Dr. John Harper, a Urology specialist in Seattle, WA. Unfortunately, after studying Erika's case, Dr. Harper determined that Erika's kidney is beyond repair and her only option is to have the kidney removed. This will require another intense surgery with more recovery time.

After taking twelve weeks of maternity leave, Erika will be taking another 6 to 8 weeks away from work for the surgery and recovery time. Erika and Kevin are now facing another financial burden. Erika has medical insurance, but she and Kevin will struggle to pay monthly bills, deductibles, and co pays, etc. 

Erika's surgery is scheduled for March 7th 2018 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center to remove her right kidney.  Any donation or prayers are greatly appreciated.
