Eric Venzor ❤️ Transplant Recovery

As many of you know, a couple of years ago my close friend and coworker Eric had a massive heart attack at the very young age of 35 which left him dependent on a LVAD (an implanted device that beats his heart for him). He spent several months out of work recovering from that surgery and was placed on the transplant list. Just recently he was blessed with the gift of a donor heart. While this amazing gift gives him a second chance at life, it’s not without struggle. He has medical insurance, but the cost of the heart transplant does not end with the surgery. Eric will be needing a lot of medical follow up, and many prescription medicines for the rest of his life to make sure his body does not reject the heart. The cost of transportation to and from appointments adds up as his mother (who has put work on hold to be his caretaker) does not drive. 

I have known and worked with Eric since he was 17 years old. His work ethic and friendship have been truly invaluable. As a proud and independent person, Eric would never ask for a handout. I want to help alleviate this burden and to offset bills while both Eric and his mom are unable to work. Eric deserves a chance to enjoy this life he’s been given back without the added financial stress.
