Ergo Pink Fest

Donation protected
Ergo Pink Fest is a 3-day theatre festival in Toronto conceived and hosted by Ergo Arts Theatre. The idea for the festival was formed when Ergo Arts Theatre’s Artistic Director, Anna Pappas, read in the 2015 Equity in Theatre study by the Playwrights Guild of Canada that “The greatest disparity in gender equity happens in the playwright category.” While some progress has been made over the past two years in changing the dominant voice in theatre, Ergo Arts is committed to continuing the push forward toward equitable and inclusive art.

The festival is a three-day event featuring the readings of the new works as well as panel discussions around themes impacting female-identifying and non-binary artists and their work.

The festival features new plays by Claire Ross Dunn, Laurie Fyffe, Shelley M. Hobbs, Calla Wright, Mairy Beam, Aracelli Ferrara, and Nastasia Pappas-Kemps. Ergo Pink Fest opens on March 23rd, and will run until the 25th, only a few weeks away!

This is where you come in. We need your help. The funds raised will go towards paying the artists (i.e, the actors, writers, dramaturgs, stage managers and the directors of each piece), paying the panelists, and paying the venue expenses. Every dollar donated will aid in the development of the plays, the execution of the readings and laying the foundation to continue this program into the future.

We have been extremely grateful for the endless support of the festival so far, and if you can, every dollar helps towards meeting our goal and lifting up these artists, hearing these voices and stories in our community.
