The elderly account for 60% of total deaths on the Navajo reservations from Covid19.

As of today August 3,2020 there have been 8927 total cases accounting for deaths of 446.

In the Navajo Nation, as In many Native American nations the elderly are responsible for passing on their culture and

traditions.  Languages , dress, music, dance, and other traditions that make up their culture are passed down orally from generation to generation .

The loss of elderly is the loss of teachers that keep customs and traditions alive .

 Bloomberg Law is reporting that the largest coal-producing mine in the nation drained Navajo Aquifer in August 2019 before it's last mining operation. This has left many residents in the area without access to water.
And while many factors have contributed to the rampant spread of COVID-19 on the Nation, and the lack of access to running water in general, being unable to access clean water has certainly contributed.
A Navajo Nation resident, Percy Deal, told Bloomberg Law, "I use the same water five or six times a day before I throw it out. It's very dirty, but otherwise, I would run out of water in less than a week. And I can't afford that."
 
Many tribal members do not have running water or electricity.  In many cases, they are forced to use toilet water for washing hands.
Without clean water for drinking, tooth-brushing, hand-washing, it is impossible for tribal members to follow CDC guidelines . 

I have made arrangements, with Sparkletts Water Company, to deliver water in one-gallon jugs to "Partnership with Native Americans" (www.nativepartnership.org )in Phoenix, Arizona.  “Partnership" will distribute the donated water to members of the Navajo and Hopi tribes.  

I am asking for your donation to bring clean  drinking water to Native Americans.  No donation is too small!  Every dollar counts!!!  Just $5.65 will buy a case of six one- gallon jugs.

Your help is desperately needed!

Although we are living in difficult times, water is a necessity of life!!!
