Shannon's fight.

Donation protected
My name Shannon and I have spent my life caring for and supporting people. Working in schools for many years as a Chaplain, years of community involvement- Domestic Violence shelters, being a voice into the lives of young people, organising camps for struggling youth.  I am usually the one fundraising for others. Never in a million years did I ever think I would have the guts to do it for myself…but here I am.

I have raised both my sons (now 22 and 20) on my own, choosing to stay single and committing my life to the cause of contributing good, strong, emotionally intelligent men who contribute to society.

I lived my life in 5th gear. I thought rest was for the lazy!!

Then, in December 2015 I got a blood clot in my leg that travelled to both lungs almost killing me.

The next 4 years have been filled with a horrendous season of fear, sickness, side effects from medications, specialist appointments (at one stage I was seeing 5 specialists), multiple hospital stays, more blood clots, innumerable emergency room visits, and many days spent in fear, pain, and symptoms. Often having to stay in bed, one of these occasions - 9 months!! Monthly CT scans. Regular invasive procedures (which I would attend on my own as to not worry anyone), I couldn’t work for 2 years. When I did return to work, I was sick again within 6 months.

Western medicines are only making me sicker. I have been diligent to follow this path for 4 years now and it has only made me sicker. They are toxic to me!! Side effects often worse than the diseases I have been told I have.

I believe anyone who knows me would speak of my resilience and strength. This strength has wavered as I am constantly and continually bombarded with symptoms that keep me bed bound. I have felt frightened for my feelings of hopelessness at times and feel strongly that I need to do this for my life.

There have been too many days, when I have simply asked God to take me home. This is no way to live. I need to continue to fight…but in the right way.

There is a Cancer healing treatment centre I have been referred to and have been researching. The treatments are all the treatments we know and hear of that are actually working in cancer and auto immune disease. These treatments are expensive, but they are working wonders.

Financially speaking - I don’t have the money to get myself there. As I have had several years of no income, savings are all gone. Cannot mortgage the house, as I am renting. Could sell my car, which would cover my train fare to Brisbane airport.

If you feel connected to my story, or me…will you consider contributing towards some of the money I need to raise to attend this treatment centre. The sooner the better.

Thank you for hearing my story.

What Shannon means to us:
She’s the emergency person you’d call in your life. Shannon is the person you can call at 3am. Shannon was who we called to go in and help save a domestic violence charity -The Sanctuary, when it was on the brink of closing.

She’s battled financially her whole life raising two boys on her own. Her sons are stellar young Men with characters of gold.

This world needs Shannon.
