Equipment upgrade for sacred mugs

Hi my name is yeyatalunyuhe (it means She draws). My English name is Lela. I am registered to Oneida nation of the Thames. Last year I started my own business called Sacred Mugs and Custom Creations. I put all of money into the basics of starting a sublimation business. I converted a printer and taught myself everything by watching many tutorials online and a lot of trial and error.

At the time I started this I was living on assistance and since then have successfully been supporting myself and my family with the success and support of community ordering custom swag for their programs and family and friends.

I registered my business in April of last year. I’m learning all of the ins and outs of how to be a independent person in business. I’ve had a dream of upgrading to a larger sublimation printer and press. But the cost is high and keeping up with my home finances is slowing this process down. Someone said to me , decolonize and instead of asking for grants ask the community for help with this. I don’t know if it will happen for me but it’s sure worth a try. I have had my eye on a press and two printers. Sublimation and a white toner printer to eliminate my vinyl so I can make better quality t shirts with my own design. It’s not included in the amount requested but if I make the amount anything extra will go towards that printer. It’s around 5000,00 just for the printer.

I am also in the process of taking steps to learn about grants and access some supports for other things to help me succeed. I thought maybe this would be the best attempt to accomplish this right now.

for those of you who are just learning about what I do. I make meaningful art pieces in items like mugs and pillows,key chains, shirts, tumblers and anything else I can think up. I recently started creating my own designs with procreate which has allowed me to express myself in ways I only could imagine. I like to call them sacred mugs because the mugs I make are not just statements about on going issues but the items raise awareness in many ways. I hope you can check out my page on Facebook.
