Equine School in St. Lucia Caribbean

Sandy Hoofs riding stables needs a new home and soon!
We are raising money to purchase a piece of land for a new home for our horses and a location for an equine school. Learning around horses teaches responsibility, patience, confidence and kindness and is a great therapy for all ages.
We started a tourism riding stables 5 years ago in the south by joining with an adventure park and offering trail rides. Then 2 years ago we began renting a property in the north of St. Lucia. The scenic rides, our well cared for horses and great guides helped business grow and the future looked bright for our other endeavours. We looked forward to the possiblity of purchasing land nearby and constructing an arena to offer horsemanship and riding lessons, therapeutic riding and farrier workshops.
Then COVID-19 hit and our income came to a screeching halt. Our landlord is building an apartment block on the property and has demolished the office and storage building we rented. He has also used the training arena for dumping back-fill and building scrap. Our second attempt at a small training arena on the property was sadly also used for dumping back-fill. We have been trying to keep our horses happy and healthy during this time but are not able to move forward with our goal of an equine school. Not having land of our own puts us in a very vulnerable position and we desperately want to get back on track with work and providing a service that also can benefit our local community.
Unfortunately in our current location we cannot service our local market while lacking the basic facilities. Without a simple training arena we fail to meet the most fundamental requirement for a safe controlled environment for both horse and rider to improve. Although St. Lucia's borders have been open to visitors for some time, our tourist market being both limited and uncertain, is inadequate to finance our goal of an equine school as previously planned.
This campaign is for raising funds to:
-Purchase a piece of property.
-Run water pipes as it is not currently connected.
-Roofing.
-Fix the road access to allow cars to easily reach us.
We already have our existing solar system for electricity and have received a large donation of lumber towards the building of stalls and to fence off an arena. (thank you so much Barbara P.)
We are so appreciative of any help towards Sandy Hoofs obtaining this space for an Equine School and home for our four legged family. A place that all ages can benefit from time outdoors, learning new skills and being around horses.
My husband and I are a well matched horsey team and we know that we will succeed in providing a great learning environment, a first step in equine education inspiring a passion that opens up many avenues.
