Equal access toJustice

When I was a little girl my Mom would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up.  I always wanted to be a judge.  I used to hold court like Perry Mason and have all my Barbie dolls and Ken and friends be the jury.  I was told that I could be anything I wanted because we live in a country that lets everyone realize their dreams.  
I was a single mom and I was the first in my family to go to college and get a degree not to mention the opportunity to go to law school.  

I worked my way through law school while raising my son.  I have spent the last 15 years practicing law and serving my community.  I knew the legislatures In Springfield passed a law creating a sub-circuit judge seat in the community I lived in.  I could not wait for the day to come that I would be able to put my name on the ballot and serve the community in this capacity.  Unfortunately, there is something called politics.  It requires you to put you and your family in a position where people can say anything, they want without you being able to defend yourself or your family.  
The First Amendment protects speech when it is against a public figure that is being spoken about or written about.  Therefore, some people use anonymity to attack good people.  The cost to refute the lies with truth has a costly impact on resources.  I am afraid one day only rich people will be able to run for office because of the costs of defending one’s honor has become too great.  Please help me fight the establishment and defend equal access to justice for all people.  Help me get the word out so that my dream can come true.  If you have a wife, a sister or a daughter or a granddaughter, help show that we should be allowed to realize our dreams.
