Dear friends and family,
As you may know My brother Eoin had emergency life-saving surgery last March after his colon ruptured. He has had a fist sized hole in his belly and an ostomy bag since then.
At the end of August, he had to undergo a second surgery to create what is called a “j-pouch” so he will not need the bag any longer! He hopes to recover from this major surgery and start working out on New Year's Day 2019!
(He will be out of work for just less than one year and of course he turned 26 between surgeries and his insurance with the existing condition is not inexpensive). While many people were very generous to my brother after the first surgery and we are quite humbled and amazed, a number of people have contacted me and asked to be able to help again.
This whole ordeal has of course created a financial difficulty and if you are moved to help we are thankful —many hands make light work— but we want to assure you there is no expectation, just gratitude!
BACKGROUND: Eoin was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis a year and a half ago, which is an auto immune disorder of the colon. In March, he had a flare up that landed him in the hospital for several weeks where they eventually decided that the only course of action would be to remove most of his colon. This was an extensive and life changing surgery for Eoin but also for our family. He has just undergone the second surgery and there is a long road to recovery as they had to “open him up” more extensively than the first time.
So we will continue this gofundme for Eoin for now, but it is important to understand that he already feels blessed beyond measure and would abhore it if anyone felt an awkward obligation to give! We will make it through one way or another by the grace of God!
How you can help today:
1. Please keep Eoin in your prayers. He has been so brave and strong and putting all his faith in Christ. He has always been a warrior. We know that through your prayers, a quick and uncomplicated recovery lies ahead!
