LE CENTRE DE SOINS ET DE PROTECTION SOCIAL DE BISSIRI (ENGLISH BELOW)
Contexte :
Le Burkina Faso
- 1/2 de la population vivant en dessous du seuil de pauvreté
- taux d'alphabétisation de l’ordre de 25%
- environ 80% des 18 millions d’habitants au Burkina Faso vivent en milieu rural
- 50 % de la population a moins de 15 ans
- indice de fécondité de l’ordre de 6 enfants par femme.
Le Centre Communautaire Pilote de l’ONG AMURT :
Il se situe à Bissiri a une cinquantaine de kilomètres au Sud de la capitale (Ouagadougou). L’ONG AMURT œuvre à développer ce centre depuis que la communauté locale a mis 3 Ha à sa disposition en 1995. L’objectif général de ce centre est de répondre aux besoins fondamentaux de la population en utilisant au maximum les ressources locales. Cet effort s’est d’ores et déjà concrétisé en créant de nouvelles sources de revenu par l’agroécologie et la transformation de produits agricoles –notamment le Moringa, en offrant une couverture de santé grâce à un dispensaire et en donnant accès à l’éducation primaire et secondaire au sein du village.
Le dispensaire de Bissiri :
AMURT a mis à disposition et subventionne depuis 2010 un dispensaire ouvert 24h sur 24 géré par des infirmiers. L’objectif est le traitement des cas de paludisme, de diarrhées, d’infections, de plaies, etc. des quelque 5000 habitants de Bissiri et environs. Fréquemment AMURT doit porter secours et parfois sauver la vie de patients qui manquent du minimum pour se traiter.
Quelques chiffres :
- 2 infirmières employées ;
- 350 patients reçus par mois en moyenne ;
- ouvert 24 sur 24 et 7 jours sur 7 ;
- prix des consultations : 200 CFA (0.3 €) ;
- Régulière prise en charge de cas graves.
Problématique actuelle :
L’indice de fécondité étant tellement élevé (environ 6 enfants par femme) il y a beaucoup de naissance mais pas de maternité. Les femmes presque à terme doivent parcourir difficilement au minimum 8 km à pied, à vélo ou à moto pour se rendre à la maternité la plus proche. Les accidents prénataux arrivent se faisant sur les sursauts de la piste cabossée et il est très rare de pouvoir bénéficier des services d’une ambulance. Le suivi de la femme enceinte (contrôles prénataux) est rendu difficile pour les mêmes raisons, ces contrôles sont pourtant indispensables pour prévenir d’éventuelles difficultés à l’accouchement, traiter les cas d’anémie et autres. De même pour le suivi du nourrisson et de la mère après l’accouchement.
Objectif :
Construire et ouvrir une maternité pour le village de Bissiri et hameaux alentours afin de remédier aux problèmes suscités. C’est-à-dire faire de notre dispensaire un Centre de Soins et de Protection Social (CSPS selon la nomenclature du gouvernement burkinabé) équipé pour couvrir les besoins fondamentaux en matière de santé de la population locale.
Budget estimatif :
15 000 € pour la construction et l’équipement de la maternité.

The Pilot Community Center of the NGO AMURT:
It is located in Bissiri about 50 km south of the capital (Ouagadougou). The NGO AMURT has been working to develop this center since the local community has made 3 ha available to it in 1995. The general objective of this center is to meet the basic needs of the population by making maximum use of local resources. This effort has already materialized by creating new sources of income through the processing of agricultural products - in particular Moringa; by providing health coverage through a dispensary and access to primary and secondary education within the village.
The Bissiri dispensary:
AMURT opened a dispensary and has been subsidising it since 2010, it's managed by nurses and is open 24 hours a day. The dispensary provides treatment from malaria, diarrhoea, infections, wounds etc. to about 5000 inhabitants of Bissiri and the surrounding areas. Frequently AMURT has to save the life of patients who lack the minimum to treat themselves.
Some stats :
- 2 nurses employed;
- 350 patients seen per month on average;
- open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
- price of consultations: 200 CFA (0.3 €);
- regular management of serious cases.
Current issue:
With the fertility rate being so high (about 6 children per woman) there are a lot of births but no maternity care. Women almost at term have to travel with difficulty at least 8 km on foot, by bike or by motorbike to get to the nearest maternity hospital. Prenatal accidents happen on the bumpy track and it is very rare for locals to benefit from the ambulance service. Monitoring pregnant women (prenatal checks) is made difficult for the same reasons, but these checks are essential to prevent possible difficulties during childbirth, to treat cases of anemia and others. The same goes for the follow-up of the infant and the mother after childbirth.
Goal :
Build a maternity hospital for the village of Bissiri and surrounding hamlets in order to remedy the problems raised. That is to say, make our dispensary a Social Care and Protection Center (CSPS according to the nomenclature of the Burkinabé government) equipped to cover the basic health needs of the local population.
Estimated budget:
€ 15,000 for the construction and equipment of the maternity service.
