Our first round of improvements to enhance our space is complete and we couldn’t be more excited! Over the summer we installed a giant walk in fridge on the first floor and last month brand new indoor and outdoor chairs and tables arrived. Nico and I have invested over $70,000 to begin the first phase of enhancing our restaurant, the BellaV.
Our goal is two more rounds of improvements and we are reaching out to our Bella Vista family to help get us there faster.
We need to raise $35,000 to propel us to the next phase, providing shade, plant life, lighting, and a more beautiful efficient bar to service our thirsty customers.
These upgrades in both the front and back of the house will help us realize our vision for this space. More importantly, it will allow us to better meet the needs of our customers. We serve our loyal café clients seven days a week. We also serve hundreds at scientific symposiums, special events and fundraisers for the arts, sciences and underserved communities. We’ve grown tremendously over the past five years. And we have done this step by step. With your help, we can achieve our goal of providing an updated space for our daily customers from the bio-tech community as well as our clients attending symposiums, special events and fundraisers.
Over the past few years, as social entrepreneurs, we have played an integral role in helping raise awareness and raising funds for groups such as Pedal the Cause, March for Science, Autism Tree Project Foundation , Alzheimer’s Research and Resources with the David Rinehart Exposition,UC San Diego and Alliance4Empowerment’s Global Empowerment Summit on Human Trafficking, Italy’s Earthquake victims, La Jolla Playhouse …
Coming up we’ve got a ton more fundraisers in the works starting with the Open Road Global Foundation , Torrey Pines Elementary School Foundation , the Susan B. Komen Foundation fighting breast cancer… the list goes on.

Bella Vista has also been instrumental in helping attract and retain talent here on the Mesa. A better environment with ample seating, shade, local artwork, and greenery will keep our existing scientists on the Mesa comfortable, relaxed and able to head back to the lab inspired while also luring in new brilliant minds .
Finally, we are looking to commission a local artist to breath even more life into our space by redesigning our bar area. This will allow us better, more efficient bar service with a much larger selection of cocktails in addition to our local craft beer and wine.
Any amount you give will help us reach our goal faster so we can pay it forward to the causes that matter most to you. We’ve donated our own time, money and resources to countless events in collaboration with UC San Diego Alumni, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce , the Center for Wealth & Legacy . We have also raised scholarship funds for underserved youth to attend performing arts programs throughout the San Diego region, with the International Jazz Academy , City Heights Music School , UCSD Jazz Camp , JCompany Youth Theater …
