Enhance Digital Literacy in Rural Myanmar

English (Zolai in anuai ah): The political and economic turmoil in Myanmar has greatly affected the education sector, making it difficult for students in Zogam (Chin state, Myanmar) to access quality education in the last two years. To address this issue, a group of young educators organized Techno Valley and are seeking support to create accessible courses using technology. The fund will provide financial support to local trainers and provide equipment and resources necessary for the delivery of tech courses.

As the pandemic hit Myanmar, I saw my family and thousands of students in some rural and remote Myanmar completely disconnected from learning or educational setting. When students in metropolitan areas were scraping through limited resources and poor infrastructure, the situation in Tedim, Tonzang or its surroundings and other parts of Chin state was worse and dire.

Local educators, tutors, brothers, sisters, or neighbors were all doing their part in compensating for educational institutions or system that were overwhelmed or often failed to provide quality education at the peak of the pandemic and amidst current ongoing conflicts and strained living and economic conditions.

Every contribution made will support local educators who will provide tech or IT courses and create environments or set up hubs and the structure that the communities could benefit from.
