English for Women's 5th Birthday Fundraiser
English for Women is a project of Chelmsford Diocese Mothers' Union
English for Women is a safe and supportive space where women of any faith (or none), nationality or culture can learn conversational English, make friends, and gain the skills needed to be an active member of their local community.
In 2015 English for Women started by supporting 3 families and now supports hundreds every year. It makes a real difference in the lives of those who are isolated by language and/or cultural barriers by helping them to improve their communication skills, build confidence, and enable them to access local services.
Women come to English for Women for many different reasons. Some want to gain confidence so they can make a doctors appointment by themselves, some to make friends so they are not alone, and some come to improve their English to help them chat to their neighbours or find voluntary or paid work. This project changes lives and enables women to direct their own futures.
As we celebrate our 5th birthday in the middle of a global pandemic, it has never been so important to break through isolation and support those in our communities.
Please help us by giving £5 for our 5th birthday, or whatever you can, so English for Women can continue this amazing work to provide women with community, connection and positive futures.
