Help End the Cycle
Tax deductible
My name is Megan Gorman. Last year, I spent some time in Haiti working on cervical cancer screening and prevention. I worked with some amazing volunteers who were doctors, lawyers, etc who just wanted to help. At the workshops I attended, I met so many women who told the same story. They each said how their families couldn’t afford to send them to school. I learned that “public” schools in Haiti, like many other poor countries, is not free. As a result, once they stopped going to school there was very little left for them to do, most started having children earlier than they wanted and when many became single mothers they had no skills to get a job and then had no money to pay for their child to go to school. I learned that just $10 was enough to pay a girl’s education for one month. I want to help to stop the cycle, but I need your assistance. CapraCare, a non-for-profit organization that I work with, provides many services, like cervical cancer screenings, to impoverished women in Haiti. In conjunction with CapraCare, I am asking that you donate as little as $10 to help pay for the education of little girls in Haiti.
