7 JEUNES, 1 MISSION
Nous sommes 7 adolescents québécois (Clara Belzile, Florence Champagne-Hamel, Laurence Côté, Noa grier, Egor Matveev, Gilles Lebault-Hébert et Emma Zlatanovska) de 16 à 17 ans venant de Montréal qui partageons la même conviction : l’éducation est la base de toute société. C’est l’ingrédient qui permet aux jeunes comme nous de rêver à un futur sans limites.
Le Bénin est le dixième pays le moins scolarisé de la planète. Les jeunes n’ont pas accès à l’éducation qu’ils méritent. Nous n'avions pas le choix: nous devions partager notre chance et faire une vraie différence dans la vie de jeunes comme nous.
NOTRE PROJET
En janvier 2019, nous partirons 3 semaines pour construire une biblio-pirogue dans le village de Sô-Ava. Il s’agira donc d'une bibliothèque flottante pouvant fournir des livres aux 69 villages de la communauté. La coquille de notre bateau sera déjà construite à notre arrivée. Nous travaillerons avec des résidents locaux à la construction de bacs pour protéger les livres et à la peinture de celle-ci. Nous irons aussi dans plusieurs villages donner des cours de lecture aux enfants et des cours pour leur apprendre à bien rechercher l'information dans les livres. En d'autres mots, comment bien analyser les livres.
De plus, le deuxième volet de notre projet sera la plantation d'arbres à chaque école visitée pour pouvoir offrir un espace de relaxation et de lecture à l'ombre.
DESTINATION
Sô-Ava est un village lacustre situé au sud-est du Bénin, sur le lac Nokoué, près de la ville de Cotonou. Cette société a un accès restreint à l’électricité, aux services sanitaires et aux livres. Nous serons accueillis par des habitants locaux membres de l’organisme BC-ONG. De plus, un des membres fondateurs est notre bon ami Hyppolite Dosa Dansou. C'est celui-ci qui nous a offert le projet et c'est à lui que nous allons donner l'argent pour que le projet s'actionne.
Ce projet aura un impact durable dans la communauté pour des générations et des générations à venir.
UTILISATION DES DONS
Nous avons besoin de $30 000 pour réaliser ce projet et souhaitons en recueillir au moins $10 000 via le crowdfunding. Les fonds recueillis serviront à :
Achat de matériaux de construction;
Achat du moteur;
Achat de plants;
Déplacement de tous les matériaux utilisés pour bâtir la biblio-pirogue et ceux utilisés pour la plantation d'arbres.
De cet argent, 12 000$ seront attribués à la construction de la barque et à la construction de coins de lecture, 15 000$ seront attribués au billet d'avions puisque nous sommes 7 à voyager et le reste sera attribué à nos besoins quotidiens comme de la nourriture, le transport, etc.
Nous allons donner l'argent à Hyppolite par transfert bancaire.
De plus, sur ce compte, les dons qui nous sont donnés, sont envoyés à Steeve Côté, le père d'une élève faisant partie du projet. Nous vous promettons que tous les dons amassés sont envoyés au Bénin pour le projet.

We are 7 students (Clara Belzile, Florence Champagne-Hamel, Laurence Côté, Noa grier, Egor Matveev, Gilles Lebault-Hébert and Emma Zlatanovska) from Montreal of 16 to 17 years of age that all share the same philosophy : education is the foundation of any and all societies. It is what gives kids like us the chance to dream of a future with no limits.
Benin is the tenth most illiterate country of the world. The kids do not have access to the education they deserve. We had no choice: we had to make a real difference in the lives of young people like us by sharing what we got lucky with.
OUR PROJECT
We will spend 3 weeks in a village named Sô-Ava in order to build a " library-pirogue " during the month of January in 2019. A library-pirogue is a floating library that will be travelling throughout the area and providing the 69 villages of the Sô-Ava community with books. The foundation of our boat will be built by locals prior to our arrival. We will then build and install crates side-by-side beninese locals. These crates will protect the books from potential water damage during the journey between villages. Another one of our tasks will be to paint and work on the finishes of the boat. We will then travel to many villages in order to teach students and teachers how to analyse books, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of books.
The second part of our project will be to plant trees at every school we visit. This will give the students a nice space to relax and read in the shade.
DESTINATION

We will be greeted and taken care of by locals and the BC-ONG. In addition, one of the founding members is our good friend Hyppolite Dosa Dansou. He is the one who offered us the project in the first place and it is to him that we will give the money so that the project can begin.
This project will have a lasting impact in the community for generations to come.

USE OF DONATIONS
This project costs 30 000$, and we wish to collect at least 10 000$ via crowdfunding.
The donations will be used for :
The materials needed for the construction of the boat;
The motor of the boat;
The plants;
The transportation of all things mentioned above.
Of this money, $ 12,000 will be allocated to the construction of the boat and the construction of reading corners, $ 15,000 will be allocated to the plane tickets (since we are 7 to travel) and the rest will be allocated to our daily needs such as food, transportation, etc.
We will give the money to Hyppolite by transfer from one bank account to the other.
In addition, on this account, the donations given to us are sent to Steeve Côté, the father of Laurence Côté, a student working on this project. We promise you that all donations collected are sent to Benin for the project.
