In 1999 Eve Ensler the writer of The Vagina Monologues, starred in the show herself at The Westside Theatre, off W. 43rd, New York, NY. This off-broadway location allowed Ensler and the monologues to burst into communities with reason, knowledge and love.
Twenty years ago, The Vagina Monologues were televised on HBO on February 14, 2002(Playbill). In synonymous to the annual VDAY holiday that is now at global scale through the organization: One Billion Rising.
With great excitement, The Vagina Monologues will be in Los Angeles, California, this May 2022!
Through the California State University Alumni Association, Performing and Cinematics Arts Departments we are ecstatic to bring forth such an amazing play and movement.
Known as a all-women-show, meaning it will be performed, produced and directed only by woman-identifying individuals. All proceeds from the show will be donated to a local charity benefitting women and girls in the Los Angeles County.
We’ve officially locked down the rights to the show and the theatre! Located in the Hollywood Theatre
