Empower Paola's Future: Architecture in Italy

Hi everyone,

My name is Paola Ramirez, and I’m a third-year architecture student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am incredibly excited to be on this journey to becoming an architect and creating spaces that can inspire and improve communities. This year, I have an amazing opportunity that also comes with a significant challenge: in order to complete my degree, I am required to study abroad in Urbino, Italy, a city rich with Renaissance architecture and a treasure trove of learning opportunities.

As someone deeply passionate about architecture, learning in a city that shaped much of what we know today about art and design would be life-changing. I’ll get to immerse myself in Italian culture, study historical and modern architecture, and work alongside talented professors and students. This experience will allow me to bring a world of new knowledge and skills back home, empowering me to make a difference in my future career.

But, as you can imagine, studying abroad is costly. Between travel expenses, housing, tuition, and materials, this journey will cost more than I can manage on my own. I’m humbly reaching out to ask for your support in making this possible. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me closer to walking the streets of Urbino and ultimately earning my bachelor’s degree.

Mi nombre es Paola Ramírez, y soy una estudiante de arquitectura de tercer año en la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio. Estoy muy emocionada por estar en el camino de convertirme en arquitecta y crear espacios que puedan inspirar y mejorar las comunidades. Este año, tengo una oportunidad increíble que también conlleva un desafío significativo. Para terminar mi carrera tengo que estudiar en el extranjero, en Urbino, Italia. Una ciudad rica en arquitectura renacentista, llena de oportunidades de aprendizaje.

Como apasionada de la arquitectura, aprender en una ciudad que dio forma a gran parte de lo que hoy sabemos sobre el arte y diseño me cambiará la vida. Podré sumergirme en la cultura italiana, estudiar arquitectura histórica y moderna y trabajar con profesores y estudiantes talentosos. Esta experiencia me permitirá traer un mundo de nuevos conocimientos y habilidades de vuelta a casa, dándome la capacidad de hacer una diferencia en mi futura carrera.

Pero, como puedes imaginar, estudiar en el extranjero es caro. Entre gastos de viaje, alojamiento, matrícula y materiales, este viaje me costará más de lo que puedo pagar por mi cuenta. Les pido humildemente su apoyo para hacerlo posible. Cada contribución, sin importar su tamaño me acercará a recorrer las calles de Urbino y por último a obtener mi licenciatura.
