Hello, Bonjour, Waachi’ye! My name is Jean-François Brisson and for 27 years my dad Reynald ‘Ray’ Brisson owned and operated the Empire in Cochrane Ontario. Built in 1954 the Empire is a cinema, live performance venue, restaurant, ice cream parlour and social hub in the heart of downtown Cochrane. The 2020 pandemic devastated our family business for 2 1/2 years followed by the passing of Ray in March 2023. I’ve decided to humbly ask the public for help to ensure the Empire continues to provide world class entertainment and joy to Cochrane and area for the next 70 years. Funds raised will go towards repairs & upgrades. We are a community minded business that proudly supports Canadian, First Nations and French language arts for all ages. From this location we have also helped raised over two hundred thousand dollars for RMH Toronto and we support our local clubs & organizations. Thank you for your consideration, Merci, Meegwetch!
