Hello, Bonjour, Waachi’ye! My name is Jean-François Brisson and for over 25 years my father Reynald ‘Ray’ Brisson has owned and operated the Empire in Cochrane Ontario. Built in 1954 the Empire is a cinema, live performance venue, restaurant, ice cream parlour and social hub in the heart of downtown Cochrane. The 2020 pandemic devastated our family business for 2 1/2 years and to make things worse I’ve now just lost my father. I’ve decided to humbly ask the public for your help to ensure that the Empire can continue to provide world class entertainment and joy to Cochrane and area for the next 70 years! 100% of funds raised will go towards maintenance and repairs, improvements and upgrades as well as building a war chest to protect ourselves from any other future government mandated shutdowns.
