Emma's Mission Trip to Malawi
Don protégé
Hello All!
The reason I am writing is to share and explain the incredible opportunity I have this June. I will be traveling to Malawi, a country in Africa, with my uncle, Darrell Clark. He is the President of the Board of Directors with When the Saints, a non- profit organization whose mission is to defend, rescue, and maintain rights of the weak, poor, and oppressed. Their work in Malawi centers on ending the exploitation of women and children who are victims of sex trafficking. Malawi has a population of over 19 million people, and is one of the poorest countries in the world. In the district of Dowa, where we will be visiting, there is high incidence of sexual abuse, with very little criminal prosecution. The average age of girls abused is 12-13 years old. When the Saints has built the only long term housing facility in the country, aimed at holistically rehibiltating those who have been sexually abused. When the Saints actively seeks to partner with local organizations to empower through sustainability rather than promote dependency. Their ministry works out of St. Louis, MO. They were originally planning to visit Malawi to continue their work back in the summer of 2020, but due to Covid, their trip was canceled and rescheduled for this June. We will be traveling for 16 days, and will spend time supporting the work being done. My uncle has invited me to come along on this incredible journey with him to learn, share, and grow as a young woman, and in my own faith. I need to raise a total of $2,500 for trip expenses. So I ask for your support, through prayers, and if you are able, through giving. I am including a link to the website for When the Saints...they are truly an amazing organization, and I cannot wait to go on this trip.
