Emma's brain surgery recovery

I am writing today about our friend, Emma Grandillo. As you may know, Emma was experiencing some bulging of her eye last fall, which led her to see her doctor. Short story—she was diagnosed with a Meningioma Grade One Brain Tumor. Apparently, a few cells remained from her 1997 surgery, and a new mass subsequently grew back during these past 25 years. Two of Vanderbilt’s best neurosurgical oncologist and ophthalmologist/neurological surgeon operated for 9 long hours on December 15th to remove the mass and correct the damage to the eye. The surgeons assured Emma that the entire tumor was removed, and she should regain full vision and return to leading her full and exciting life. And the best news…it was benign and no signs of cancer!

I am thankful for Emma’s successful surgery and the positive outcome. As you can imagine, though, she has a growing stack of medical bills, as well as upcoming transportation expenses (since she is not allowed to drive for 6 months). I have set up a GoFundMe page in Emma’s name, and if you want to donate, that would be fantastic, and any amount is appreciated. There’s absolutely no pressure or judgment if you don’t want to participate…I just want to make sure I include everyone who may want to help.
