Emily's Healing Journey
Donation protected
Meet Emily. We are from Melbourne and she is my cousin. She is 4 years old and the most imaginative, playful, happy soul. Devastatingly, Emily was in a horrific car accident a few days ago and sustained irreparable damage to her little body. We have been told the most soul crushing news, that Emily is now a quadriplegic. We currently don't know the extent of her breathing capabilities on her own, yet with the rehab in the coming months, we hope she will be able to do this on her own. The doctors seem to think it will be months before she goes home, potentially a year. Emily's mummy Lisa, was also involved in the car accident and is also in hospital with damage to both legs. She has undergone surgery and requires more. The healing process wont be as quick as we hoped and she will take a little while to heal.
Currently Emily and her mum are in separate hospitals and we do not know when Emily's mummy can pay Em a visit to let her know her mummy is there. Meanwhile Emily's daddy Phil Tomkins, teenage brother and 2 year old sister, need to manage the best they can, over the coming days, weeks, months and the future. With ongoing living expenses, food, petrol, car maintenance, you name it, we want to help. Living an hour away from the two separate hospitals, the challenges are very real for Emily's daddy to be in multiple places at once and trying to keep it together for his loved ones. All extra money raised is to relieve the long term financial burden, to enable Emily's family, to not have to think twice, if they can afford everyday essentials from milk and bread to nappies for her sister.
Please, if you have any spare money to donate, please help these guys so they can all be home together, as soon as humanly possible and let their lives continue on, in the most comfortable way possible.
