Emergency Veterinary Care for Merlin

My dog Merlin is my best friend. He is sweet, energetic, friendly and a joy to have around. I got him at 8 weeks old and he’s been my little dork ever since. He’s a yearand a half old and still has so much life left. I don’t know what I would do without him.

I had to take Merlin to the emergency veterinary clinic this evening, and the total costs are much much more than I would have ever expected. They weren’t immediately able to pinpoint exactly what the issue is, but he is losing fluid rapidly and it’s raising his red blood cell count very quickly, and estimate they will have to hold him for 24-48 hours. I was able to pay the deposit on borrowed funds so that theycould start treating him. But if the total reaches the higher side of the estimate I have no idea how I’ll make the money or even get it to post to my account in time.

I don’t expect to hit my goal, but every single donation would mean the absolute world to me. I know there is so much going on in the world right now, and I hate to ask for anything, but I’m going to do whatever it takes to get my boy back.

If for any reason the actual cost differs from the estimate I’ll donate all of the excess to community based organizations across Richmond or beyond based on recommendations from community activists and friends. I’ll stop the fundraiser as soon as I know the actual cost if I’ve made that amount. Thank you all so much.
