Emergency Support for David "Dave" Clark

As many of you know, David "Dave" Grabowski Clark sustained serious injuries to both of his feet during a 20+ foot fall at Joshua Tree National Park in mid-October. Climbing has been David's passion for many years, and it is our hope he can, with the right care and support, make a full recovery. We are frantically trying to get David the best medical care possible and he will soon be having surgery to rebuild both of his heels. Since he was living out of his van and climbing at the time his accident occurred, he has been staying at a friend's apartment until housing that can accommodate his wheelchair can be found.

We would like David to be able to stay in Los Angeles for at least several months post surgery so he can receive emotional support from his group of wonderful friends there, both in and beyond his climbing community. Housing in LA is expensive, and we will also be needing to purchase anything he needs to maximize his mobility and become as independent as possible (and to be able to access the nearest coffee shop, if you know him, you will understand this to be critical to his recovery- LOL).

It is estimated he may not be able to do any weight bearing for a full year. We are hoping to use funds to pay for housing, rehabilitative services and support, etc. We would also use any funds to purchase a laptop for David to be able to hopefully find online work while he is recovering.

Any help you can give to help David recover and get what he needs in these next months is so greatly appreciated. We are so very thankful that he is still here with us and we love him so much. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts...
