Emergency move after roof collapse

Hi, my name is Chris. For the past year and a half I've been acting as a live in caretaker for my mother. For the past few years she's lived in this quadruples with a few other tenants. For years I've been very unhappy with the state of the building.

Just this week my fears were realized as the roof collapsed on the back side of the building while I was on a work call. The power flickered out and the house shook worse than any earthquake I've felt. My mother and I ran out back to find the utility shack caved in, a power line knocked loose, and our breakers were buzzing and arcing. We were out of power for several hours while PUD came and repaired the power. It still left us with a damaged roof in a town known for rain and flooding.

Just today we got notice from the county that we need to relocate by Monday, as the whole roof, including the rafters, need to be completely replaced. When asking the landlord about getting our deposits back, we were met with more questions than answers, and are still unsure if we'll be getting our deposit back.

With my car unable to drive for more than a few minutes, and my mother's car being as small as it is, we cannot afford the cost of moving our belongings, let alone paying the deposit and first months rent at a new location. With your donations, my goal is to finalize the repairs on my vehicle, get a storage unit, and move us into a temporary housing solution until we can figure out where we'll be going from here.
