Emergency Health Care for Venezuelan Refugees

Give Refugees A ChancE (Grace), an NGO, was started in Cuenca, Ecuador in 2019, to provide health care services to refugees and locals in need. Up until last week, Grace was providing services to 120 people per week, who have both emergency and chronic health needs.
After spending hundreds of hours modifying the building and thousands of dollars to provide a state of the art medical clinic, following the guidance of inspectors, Grace was informed that additional modifications are required to the building. Grace is now closed until new walls are constructed, sinks installed, and rewiring. With both paid and volunteer workers partaking in construction, total costs for the modifications should be $5,500.
Every week Grace offices are closed, people are denied medical and dental care. People who need care with diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, and pregnancies, have no where to obtain care without waiting at least 3 months. As funds come in, work will begin. Most of the health services are provided by Venezuelan health care professionals who fled Venezuela. They are provided a modest payment so they do not have to sell items on the street corner in order to obtain food and basic shelter.
