Emergency funds for Sebastian’s mom, Melany

As many of you know, my lifelong friend Melany Del Moral Summers’s young son Sebastian was diagnosed with stage 3/4 Glioblastoma in July. He is currently in the ICU battling for his life. Melany is unable to work as she spends every moment with him. Her current financial situation has become quite dire, and she is in need of help, but doesn’t want to ask for it herself. As a single mom, she has always held down multiple jobs — but at this point she is unable to work any kind of regular schedule at all. I held a small fundraiser for her in my shopping group over the weekend and raised $543 for her, but a much larger amount would not only help her get back on track, but she would be able to stop stressing about paying her rent and feeding herself for a while, and could instead focus her energies on dear Sebastian.
