Emergency Fund for New Van

Donation protected
I hate to have to do this, but I don't know how else to help.  My daughter, Candice Breitmayer and her boyfriend, Larry-David TerHaar, were in a car accident on Feb. 7, 2020.

Three women were shoplifting at Kohls on Alpine Friday night.  The Police were outside waiting for them to come out.   Also outside, was their "get away" car.  The Officer seen them, ran the plates and found out the car was stolen.  The man that was driving the stolen vehicle,  got spooked and took off.  The Police chased them onto Alpine,  at 7:30 on a Friday night!  The traffic on Alpine is awful.

He made it to the 3 mile intersection, about 2 blocks, (without his lights on!) then slammed into Larry's work van.  They had it loaded for a job in the morning.  After he hit the van, he then hit a pedestrian that was waiting at the corner to cross the street!  That man escaped serious injury.  Thank God, he's lucky to be alive!

All this was on the news.  Here is the link:

My daughter now has a broken pelvic bone and is in a lot of pain.  She works with Larry, but will be laid up for quite a while, as she can hardly walk.  Larry got away with minor injuries.

Here's the problem.  The van is totalled.  They had PLPD insurance.  That van is their livelihood.  They lay flooring.  He has to haul 12ft rolls of carpet and padding, wood floors and tile.  Plus all his tools for the job.

After paying the almost $300. impound fee,  Larry borrowed a friend's truck and trailer to get the van home.

Saturday morning, he had to tow the totalled van, on the trailer, with his friends truck to the job site!  His Uncle helped him unload all that carpet thru one of the little windows in the back of the van because now the doors won't open!  He was hurting himself, but he worked anyway.  I was impressed, to say the least.

I wish I could buy them a van, but I can't.  We will pursue any options available to them with insurance, but that's gonna take time, with no guarantees.

I am hoping to raise enough money for them to buy a new, used van.  I'm guessing maybe $3000.  ?

Thank you so very much for reading my long post.  If you can help with any donation, we would be grateful beyond words.  If you cannot donate, your thoughts and prayers would also be greatly appreciated.

Again, thank you!
