Emergency Fund After Leaving China

Hello all. I never thought I would have to do this. I’ve just returned to the UK from China. I had to leave at the worst possible time. If quit my job at the end of January and I was due to move to Shanghai two weeks ago to start a new job in a kindergarten. Then the Coronavirus happened and the school was closed indefinitely so I had to come home, leaving my girlfriend at home in China. I can’t start a job here until I’ve self quarantined which means that for the whole of February I will be earning no money at all. I have no savings which is more fool me. Hindsight is a power I wish that I had. I hate begging and I refuse charity in general but this is a desperate situation. When I’m back on my feet I will make sure I repay any kindness to a charity.
