Emergency Disaster Relief for J.C. Allison

who I'm  raising money for
my father figure J.C. Allison just has a tornado rip through his small town Onalaska, Texas completely wiping out 89 homes and heavily damaging over 250.  his is the only home still standing on his street, but sustained heavy damage.
He is 81 years old, lives alone basically in isolation, as he was the victim of a 1980 motorcycle crash which caused him to have a 2" shortened/crippled right leg...he then diagnosed with a liver disease in 1988 with 6 months to live and has outlived the disease but is left with no immune system because of the medicine he takes.  Allison is quarantined in the part oof his house that's intact, but due to his "boy in the bubble" existence, even in good times he can not risk getting a cold as it could be lethal.
He has lived a content but quite meager existence off of a settlement that let him get his home all those years ago, and he enjoyed spending his time on his two 1964 and 1967 vehicles.  Although he was never a mechanic, many folks have said how brilliantly he has tackled jobs a healthy young man might be intimidated by... for example, he recently removed the front axle from his 1967 dodge van by himself, no garage, minimal tools and replaced the bushing, hand reamed for a one thousandth of an inch slip fit, completely rebuilt steering/breaking systems to a show car quality, under what to most folks would just look like an old van... his hundreds of hours and all his expendable income investment in his beloved truck ( that he used as his light show equipment hauler in the early 70's) was taken by a 100' tree flattening all his work.
everyone was amazed at the scope and impeccable quality of work he has always done, especially if one considers his health/strength limitations.  he has been a source of inspiration to many on various automotive forums- his only method of safe human interaction, a testament to doing the best you can with what you have to work with.
Allison also invented the Crystalume ( a visual instrument) in 1967 with a philosophy of playing light with your hands opening the doors for Musicians to enter. His lightship is infectious as is Allison.
The economic strain of not having insurance, with a major damage to ones home, might be pale in comparison to the loss of a life that has occurred from these storms, but in his case, he needs to stay put and needs his home repaired - he certainly is in no condition to be climbing any ladders even just to hang a tarp or keep rain out.
when I found out last Thursday nightApril 30th, I called the fire department and they sent a police officer over and the officer said he could not get to Allison as he was barricaded inside his house with debris and trees almost covering his entire house, but said he is ok, but concerned.
My husband Chris  Champion left that Thursday evening driving 14 hours to get to  him and found Allison's home is  the only home left on his block as the others were demolished and some ripped out of the ground and moved.  Chris is a carpenter, and used his chainsaw Friday afternoon to free him.
Chris is staying there to clear trees off the house, repair the roof at least temporarily weathertight until a roofing company can come and replace the roof.
It is going to be a huge project.

We are thankful some friends are offering to help with a little expense, but suggested a 'go fund me ' campaign, as rebuilding a storm damaged home, while keeping him safely in the undamaged part is going to be both challenging and expensive... everyone is gong though a lot of uncertainty right now, but if anyone is willing to chip in and help, it would be greatly appreciated.
This is a good guy who has gotten by on his own for decades, never been a burden to anyone, suddenly caught in an unforeseen predicament of no fault of his own.
Maybe some of you can relate to surviving a crippling motorcycle accident, some classic car fans, or just folks wanting to help a truly brilliant man who no fault of his own has not just endured, but thrived thru challenges more than most could not begin to imagine, can chippier in a few bucks, perhaps we can get his modest home safe and sound enough to keep him and his pets safe for the rest of his years.
thank you
