Emergency COVID-19 Health Clinic in Afghanistan

Tax deductible
ACAA is fundraising to build an emergency Covid-19 health clinic in Afghanistan, as well as the creation of mobile health clinics with PPE for hard to reach and poor communities.

We need YOUR help to bring vital healthcare to the most vulnerable and poor of Afghanistan. It is up to US to give them the help they need to survive Covid-19.

For some, the centre will be their only source of reliable medical care; as well as being the areas first line of defence against the spread of Covid-19 through the health and infection awareness skills it will teach.

We will navigate logistical obstacles, cultural and traditional differences, educational inadequacies, security issues, and the inherent risks of corruption that comes with establishing one of the leading health centres in Afghanistan. We plan to include six, 30-bed wards, along with areas to admit and discharge patients. These will be cared for by well trained, highly qualified medical professionals and ancillary staff, and supported by efficient and effective helplines.

All doctors, nurses and ancillary staff will need to be trained to understand and cooperate with the area’s unique cultural requirements, so that patients can properly explain their needs in a comfortable environment.

The facility will represent the first stage of our plans to develop a full hospital,

which as well as providing medical care to those who do not have access to it, will teach skills for healthy living to help break the cycle of poverty.

We plan for the project to become the country’s first non-profit hospital facility with an integrated education program, partnering with a university using the model of the King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This will take the lead in establishing a sustainable healthcare system for the whole of Afghanistan.

ACAA has already secured the land for the facility and has agreements in place with both Parwan and Kabul University. In addition we are making plans to partner with a university hospital to support scientific research that could benefit the community.

We are receiving several calls each week by medics living in the UK and Europe about how they can be involved in this project and help make it a reality.

All we need now is your support.
