Emergency Care for Dog Hit by Car
Donation protected
Carmela, a recent rescue dog, escaped from the Town of Oyster Bay dog park through an unsecured maintenance gate. She ran onto County Line Rd and was hit by a car. The driver left the scene and she was found howling and crying in pain on the side of the road. She was rushed to the Emergency vet and has a compound fracture of her back leg and fracture to her other leg. Just to keep her comfortable through the night will cost us up to $2,300 and the estimate for her total care will be almost $10,000. Any help would be appreciated. It is heartbreaking to see her this way and our two year old daughter wonders where her "pup pup" is.
