Emergency aid for communities hit by Hurricane Eta

We are gathering funds for rural communities impacted by Hurricane Eta in Honduras. We are in community with two Honduran women seeking asylum in the U.S. who now live in Los Angeles. They asked for our help to fundraise for their families who have lost their homes and livelihoods to the hurricane. All funds will be sent directly to their families in northern Honduras living in the communities of Esparta and Aldea La Protección Choloma Cortes. The majority of work in the area is in the banana sector and flooding from the hurricane has destroyed thousands of homes and acres of crops that will take some time to recover before people in the area have a viable livelihood again. Funds will be sent for emergency aid to cover costs for food, water, medicine and rebuilding. The message below comes from one of the women, in her own words:
“I am writing this message to my friend asking for her collaboration so that you can help me to send funds to my Honduras family whose village was hit by the hurricane. I would be very grateful to you. Right now I don’t have work and I don’t have a way to help them. I put my hope in God and you all to be able to help them there because they don't have work, they don't have food and they lost everything because of the hurricane and I hope for your support. Thank you for your unconditional support.”

Estamos recaudando fondos para comunidades rurales importadas por el huracan eta en Honduras. Estamos en comunidad con dos mujeres quien esta solicitando el asilo en los estados unidos y ahora viven en Los Angeles. Ellas nos pidieron nuestro apoyo para ayudarles recaudar fondos para sus familias que han perdido sus hogares y trabajos decide al huracán. Todos los fondos estarán mandados directamente a las comunidades de en esparta y aldea la protección choloma cortes ubicadas en el norte del país.
