Emerald Sketch Art therapy Response Team  is rooted for immediate trauma response after helping the Sandy Hook School community in Newtown, CT.  Established as the first mental health program specifically in response to the shooting, the Founding Director, Nicole Porter Davis, MA ATR-BC, LCAT sustained programming for eighteen months as the Resiliency Center of Newtown  was established.

Since then the Emerald Sketch has evolved into a community of art therapists available and able to respond to human made disasters as acts of American terrorism throughout the United States, as well as natural disasters for child trauma response.  The work primarily has focused on communities post massacre as such horrors are all too prevalent.

Now we have a combination of child advocacy programs for immediate trauma response including both the American massacre epidemic and our current migrant child crisis due to sudden family separationDavis rapidly began making new connections within the New York City system.  There was a sudden surge of awareness and upset regarding the care of the thousands of displaced migrant children.  Though their separation and trauma began far earlier, until the executive order was signed only on June 20th, 2018 it was nearly impossible for any lawyer or clinician to provide aid.

This GoFundMe campaign is reawakening as the Emerald Sketch is seeking to build enough funds to officially launch the non-profit EmeraldSketch A.R.T., Inc., outfit the first fleet of Creative Arts therapy Trauma Response Units, and hire full time Art therapy Trauma Responders prepared to educate, assess, and provide.  Due to the latest assaults against society from Brooklyn, to Dayton, Gilroy, and El Paso ... we must unite and continue to respond.

It devastates us as an organization and group of individuals compassionate about child advocacy and well being.  Join us, and truly let's continue to help humans when help is needed most, following a massacre or horrendous mass disaster.

The Emerald Sketch Art therapy Response Team needs support to stand strong, and maintain services across the nation throughout all this devastation.

Trauma is the result of a deeply distressing experience.

Trauma needs to be treated, or the emotional distress will most likely compound.

Trauma Response should happen now! Not in September when the Senate can debate. Clinicians in place are ready and in need of greater resources. Lawyers and caregivers are also asking for trauma therapy for themselves.

Here is what the Emerald Sketch has been doing about our Homeland Humanitarian Crisis in the past year, please visit our website for our later history:

In cooperation with New York Art therapy Association, the Emerald Sketch Director provided a half day Art therapy trauma response training for New York based Creative Arts therapists at NYU in the Winter 2019.

Full Day trauma training in Philadelphia, PA hosted by the Delaware Valley Art therapy Association at Drexel University

Clinical supervision for therapists already in place where organizations are housing or serving migrant children 2018- present separated from their families.

Visit to Houston, Texas to train Creative Arts therapists, and Mental health workers serving trauma survivors of all types with a focus on migrant families separated at the Border, and community trauma post Texas massacres.

Emerald Sketch sponsored Online Immediate Needs Trauma Response Course for California based Creative Arts therapists for the California Fire Tragedies

Educational workshops, assessment, and outreach in Santa Fe, Texas post High School Tragedy

Emerald Sketch Art therapy Response Team Trainings will begin this Fall.    This programming is also intended to engage a new initiative of clinicians to provide immediate Art therapy Response to treat Trauma following any human-made disaster first in the New York tri-state region, and beyond into the greater United States as funding and awareness are raised.

Thank you kindly for reviewing our campaign, and your consideration.
