Em/Hex's Head-On Car Collision

On March 23rd, I was in a catastrophic car accident. I was driving when another driver, going more than 100 MPH, lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median, and slammed into my car head-on. The effective combined speed of our cars was over 170 MPH. The other driver died instantly; my car saved my life.
I was pinned for two hours before they were able to extract me. I was LifeFlighted back to Austin, where I underwent several surgeries. My jaw was snapped in three places. I have plates there, several plates throughout my arms and legs, and about a dozen pins in various joints. I also lost half my spleen, had a lacerated diaphragm, broke several ribs, and dislocated one rib. My right leg was pinned and partially crushed.
I spent a full month in ICU. I had a tracheotomy and was on tube-feeding. I spent another month in the regular part of the hospital. I've had to relearn how to eat, drink, and generally look after myself. I've only recently started learning how to get in and out of a wheelchair. While the wheelchair is (probably) a temporary measure, it is an aid I'll be using for the foreseeable future.
The other driver was not licensed. He was uninsured. The car was uninsured. My car insurance will not cover the medical expenses I am facing. While the hospital took me as a charity case, not every doctor that treated me is part of that agreement. My insurance is limited, as well.
Donations will go towards:
- mobility and accessibility aids not covered by insurance
- copays and prescriptions
- wheelchair-accessible transportation
- living expenses, such as rent and food, since I'm unable to work at the moment
- helping pay medical bills
