Hi everyone! I am a French immersion teacher in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This year, I have the exciting opportunity to move from Nursery into Grade 1. I am so excited to continue to grow as an educator. With my change in grade comes a need for new teaching resources and classroom supplies to support my students. I love investing in my career but teaching supply costs add up. Materials such as school supplies (pencils/notebooks/etc) and items that are kept in the classroom (Blocks/Dice/Cards/etc) are reimbursed, but there are many items that teachers must pay for out of pocket. I am raising money to purchase resources for classroom use such as - Guided Reading Materials, Independent Work Center Activities in ELA and Math, Read Aloud Story Books, Classroom Library Books, Teaching Guides for Running Records - Reading Comprehension - Math Instruction, Word Study Materials, Literacy and Numeracy Manipulatives, and Office Supplies. I have made the goal $1000 to reflect the prices of French materials and Teaching guides. English books cost $100 for50 books whereas French books cost $100 for 20. Teaching guides run from $30 - $80.
