Remembering Eliza Jane Trainer

On January 1st, 2020, a night when most would be celebrating and ushering in the new year, tragedy struck for Eliza Trainer. Eliza and a friend had been visiting locations around Michigan and taking photos. This time they made a venture to a pier in Holland Michigan on Lake Michigan. While Eliza had spent a lot time around and on the Great Lakes on this trip she found Lake Michigan in a furry. Like every other thing she encountered in life she took it head on, without fear. Five years ago we lost her mother to a very rare untreatable form of cancer. Eliza was very strong throughout the years of her mother's mostly experimental treatments. That experience left us broke and broken, but it strengthened our bond and Eliza quickly grew into a very respectful and responsible young lady. She used her love of the outdoors, soccer, her family and friends to help her keep moving forward. I could go on and on about what a special person Eliza was and the impact she had on those who knew and loved her. People tell me all time that she lit up the room with her presence, I know she was a bright light in my life and her mothers. She will be missed by many, more than I ever imagined. The stories of her, the thoughts, prayers, kindness and outreach of generosity has been a godsend for me in this very troubling time. I would like to thank everyone who reads this, bless your hearts.
